Ash wood from home woods
For our FICOTHERM outdoor flooring - tiles and long planks – we exclusively use thermically treated beech wood of durability class 1 for a very long life. Other advantages of this wood are the high dimension stability and the necessary hardness. Your terrace, swimming pool surround, balcony, paths or even the bathroom inside the house will look great with our FICOCLIP wooden tiles (364x364 / 364x728 mm) or our riffled planks (long, grooved on both sides).
A CLIP connection system allows simple and exact laying without substructure. The riffles in the upper surface of the planks and tiles reduce the danger of slipping and on the underside it ensures a quicker drying.
Durable despite of wind, weather and sun
As THERMOHOLZ is a natural product its colour is going to change in time into a silver grey like all the other not treated types of wood. This is not a disadvantage. In my opinion It looks beautiful, I like silver grey. But as this maybe a reason for you not to use thermically treated wood we decided to point this out before listing our arguments which support FICOTHERM outdoor flooring:
- long durability and weather resistance
- less shavings and cracks (naked feet will like this)
- nearly neutral temperature
- high dimension stability
- minor formation of mould
- 30-90% more form stability when it is damp
- better resistance to rottenness
